Every year, many properties in New Zealand will suffer from water damage. Even damage that appears minor can cause larger problems, such as structural damage, or growth of mould and mildew.

PROLONGING CAN LEAD TO HEALTH RISKS
After an event causing flooding or water damage, there may be a number of potential health risks to the inhabitants of the affected property. Many of these risks may be invisible to the naked eye.
Standing water and wet materials are a breeding ground for microorganisms, such as viruses, bacteria and mould. These can cause disease, and trigger allergic reactions. Water damage may also cause ongoing structural damage to your property. In extreme cases, this may pose a serious risk to human safety.
WATER DAMAGE FREE IN 3 EASY STEPS
A Jani-King team member will first talk to you in order to assess your individual needs, provide a quote, and schedule required services. One of our water damage experts will then assess your property and create a specialised plan.
Typically, our water-damage repair process is carried out by our trained professionals in three steps:
1. Water Removal
First we will extract standing water and remove water-retaining materials such as carpet-pad, plasterboard and insulation. We may also remove other water-damaged materials as required.
The next repair phase involves drying out the structure, materials, and air through use of specialist dehumidifiers and air movers. This draws moisture out of structural materials, and restores moisture levels to normal, preventing any secondary damage to your property. For example, high moisture levels in air can cause paint to peel, building materials to warp, and mould to grow, even in areas untouched by water.
3. Water Damage Remediation
Once the structure has been tested to ensure that it is completely dry, the third and final phase involves replacing water-damaged materials removed in the initial cleaning phase. We can work with you to arrange restoration of water damaged areas, including replacement of affected materials.
The success of water damage remediation is greatly affected by how quickly it is begun. Give us a call today, and let us take the stress out of flood damage remediation. No job is too big or too small! Let us show you why we are called the King of Clean!
